Model motions for Labour Party Conference

The Campaign for Labour Party Democracy has drafted a range of motions for CLPs to consider submitting to this year’s Labour Conference.

Topics include the cost of living crisis, the right to protest, undermined by the Conservative’s Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act, climate breakdown, trade union rights, greater protection for disabled people from Covid 19 and improvements in the ways claims for disability benefits are assessed.

One priority topic will be the bringing into public ownership of key utilities – energy, water and Royal Mail. CLPs need to pass these motions and get them onto the Conference agenda to highlight the policies that can tackle the multiple crises facing us and to keep the pressure on Keir Starmer to embrace these radical and popular policies.

The motions can also be found here on CLPD’s website. Motions need to be 250 words or below, and submitted by 5pm on Thursday 15th. September.
