Labour Women Leading: Working for Socialism and Equality in the Movement

By Ruth Clarke

LWL AGM Saturday 26th November, 1-5.15 p.m. on Zoom

Tough times for women in our communities, and for socialist feminists in our Party.  But women are fighting back, whether by setting up food banks, mutual aid or advice agencies, or by organising in trade unions or their Labour Party women’s branch.

This coming Saturday 26th November, Labour Women Leading will run an afternoon of talks and discussions celebrating women’s activism and positivity against the odds.  We’ll hear from Aghileh Djafari Marbini how we can support the women-led uprising in Iran.  Alia Butt will update us on the current struggles for recognition and fair pay in the NHS.  We have interactive workshops on the cost of living/right to food, the climate emergency, migration, and the crisis in the care sector.  There will be an AGM for paid-up members of our organisation.  Our final session will address the fight against misogyny in our movement, with Fliss Premru of #MeTU and a woman MP.
