|Former student activist Gabriel Boric’s victory in Chile’s elections last month represented a resounding rejection of neoliberalism, in a historic turnout that saw the Apruebo Dignidad candidate obtain the largest majority in the nation’s history. As Boric prepares to take office in March – and the Constitutional Convention continues with its work of rewriting Chile’s constitution in a clear break from its Pinochet-era predecessor, with the aim to address the climate emergency as well as social and economic issues – the stage is set for historic change in Chile. TWT and the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung will be joined by Chilean activists to discuss the recent elections, and the opportunities and challenges facing the Chilean left, on Monday 24th January at 19:30 GMT, in a special event streamed live on YouTube.|
