Two days after announcing our next Lewes Labour event The Burnham Bounce, every place was taken!
I‘ve now booked a much bigger venue, but two-thirds of places have already been snapped up – book now to avoid disappointment. That’s no surprise, really: this event is so popular.
Labour Conference this year will be Andy Burnham’s first as Labour leader and his first as Prime Minister. Interest is going to be huge.
Saturday afternoon, 3rd October, in the immediate aftermath of Labour Party Conference we have organised a roundtable on the ‘Burnham Bounce’.
- Ajai Ahluwalia is a member of the Socialist Environmental and Resources Association (SERA) Executive. SERA is Labour’s Environment campaign, founded in 1973, member-led and affiliated to the Party. Ajai’s background is engineering with extensive practical experience of building renewable energy capacity.
- Cat Arnold serves on the Labour Party National Executive Committee (NEC). In the 2026 NEC election, Cat, who stood on the Mainstream Labour slate, topped the poll. She was previously a Labour Councillor on Adur District Council for six years.
- Joanna Orsatelli will be Lewes Labour’s delegate to the 2026 Labour Party Conference. A first-time delegate, Joanna will be taking with her the experience gained by her involvement in the practical pluralism both of Lewes Labour events and the Lewes Food Banks Collections.
- Simon Weller is Assistant General Secretary of ASLEF, the trade union for train drivers. The Labour Party was formed, by the trade unions, in 1900, as the Labour Representation Committee, and ASLEF, which was founded in 1880, affiliated in 1903.
Join us for a very special afternoon of discussion. All welcome, our only entry criteria, an open mind.
Do book now to avoid disappointment. Tickets from here. Presented by Lewes Area Branch of the Labour Party.
Mark Perryman is the Event Organiser.
