Labour Party Conference is next week!

And Labour Women’s Conference starts this week. Here are some initiatives promoted by the Campaign for Labour Party Democracy.

  • CLPD is holding a fringe event on the eve of Women’s Conference, 5-6pm, Friday 25th September, Friends Meeting House, School Lane, Liverpool. Come for tea/coffee, meet left grassroots candidates and discuss issues coming up at Women’s Conference.

  •  CLPD is supporting grassroots left candidates for National Women’s Committee:

  • Rathi Guhadasan
  • Ann Henderson
  • Emine Ibrahim
  • Caoimhe Ní Dhónaill
  • Sandra Wyman

These candidates will work for a more democratic Labour Women’s Organisation and Women’s Conference, supporting women members to be active and involved in policy-making, promoting women’s representation and pushing for the policies women need, including investment in welfare not warfare, fighting racism and supporting migrant women, and rejecting privatisation of our NHS.

  • CLPD and Momentum have a joint meeting: Resetting to Win
    7.30pm, Tuesday, 29th September, Friends Meeting House, School Lane.
    Speakers include Bell Ribeiro-Addy MP, Richard Burgon MP, Jess Barnard and Gemma Bolton (NEC).
